Asus, a company perhaps best known for making motherboards for personal computers, has had its toe dipped in the smartphone market for a couple of years now. The company, which is not well known for phones outside of Asia, officially entered the UK market late last year and now has plans to enter the U.S. market with the launch of the P527, the subject of this review.
The P527 is a Windows Mobile Professional smartphone that comes equipped with high end features like an auto-focus camera and GPS navigation. It also features one rather rare and practical feature for a touchscreen based Windows Mobile device: a traditional alphanumeric phone keypad. After spending a couple of weeks with the P527, I can safely say that this quad-band GSM/EDGE smartphone is a very handy device to have around.
