Wireless broadband solutions like HSPA, WiMAX and LTE have been argued to be ringing the death knell for WiFi, but that isn't stopping cable TV provider, Cablevision, from building out their own wireless broadband solution based on WiFi.
The high-speed wireless network from Cablevision will be built on existing infrastructure and will use WiFi rather than WiMAX or LTE to bring broadband internet access to its cable customers. The network build-out is expected to cost $100 per customer in and around New York City.
