In a rather high-brow CES interview talking about a future where the TV becomes the focal point of all family activity and every single wall is a display, ASUSTek’s CEO Jonney Shih let slip of what he called an EE Phone, which would potential control all of these interfaces. When it comes to low-cost technology, it doesn’t get much cheaper than free,....

With HP's touchscreen laptop looming on the horizon, out come the leaks of an ASUS touchscreen lappie scheduled for launch in the first half of 2009. Touchscreen Eee PCs too (finally, right?) if DigiTimes' sources at panel makers are correct (which they tend to be with regard to ASUS).

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. The current evolution in the mobile world is the move to higher-resolution displays. For too long, mobile phone consumers have been forced to pick from handsets with woefully-limited pixel counts.

It looks like ASUS has more in store when it comes to touchscreen phones than that P552w we saw the other day. According to pictures leaked to the Mobile01 forums, the company is planning an Omnia-esque device that will feature a large (WQVGA or WVGA) touchscreen, a 5-megapixel camera,.....

It's always good news when some sort of Touch Pro garners approval from that lovable bureaucracy we call the FCC, but this one has an extra-special place in our hearts: we're pretty sure it's the Fuze.

Speculation, being what it is, forces us to take both possible sides of a story in to account. Such as this latest rumor regarding the Lamborghini-branded Windows Mobile 6.1 smartphone from ASUS. The ASUS ZX1 Lamborghini has been gussied up and shown off for the lux-handset demographic to drool over for the past several months, and we've been waiting on ASUS to finally launch the handset this summer. But, that may no longer be the case.

Wait, what? Google's Android mobile OS is running on a handset designed with Symbian as the underlying mobile platform? Yep, at least that's what it looks like from what we can see in this here video. Apparently, some enterprising Android fan has managed to get what seems to be Android up and running on their Nokia N95. The videos aren't exactly of the best quality (read: crap), but we can clearly see the Android-based Google Maps application grabbing positional data and the Android dialer making a voice call.

Garmin, one of the biggest names in GPS navigation hardware, has announced that it has, for the first time ever, outsourced production of a device. The Garmin Nuvifone, long-expected to marry Garmin's GPS navigation prowess with the convenience of a mobile phone, will apparently be manufactured by ASUS.

What good is a flagship handset sporting a quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM radio, tri-band (850/1900/2100Mhz) UMTS/HSDPA radio, WiFi, and integrated GPS if it doesn't sport the latest eye-candy available? Well, actually, it's still a damn good range-topping handset, but there's always room for improvement.

Let's see, HTC has its own UI (TouchFLO and TouchFLO 3D) running on top of Windows Mobile, Gigabyte and Sony Ericsson are working on something similar, and now ASUS is joining the pack with its Glide — in its release ASUS doesn't specifies on top of which mobile OS Glide will run, however all their handsets are using Windows Mobile.

ASUS isn't showing any signs of slowing down its Windows Mobile product lineup anytime soon. The ASUS P560 may be a bit overshadowed by the company's Lamborghini-branded ASUS ZX1, but that doesn't mean the ASUS P560 isn't a true powerhouse by any means.
The quad-band (850/900/1800/1900Mhz) GSM ASUS P560 is powered by Windows Mobile Professional 6.1 and packs in a dual-band 3.6Mbps HSDPA radio, aGPS, WiFi, 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR, microSDHC slot, 256MB ROM / 128MB RAM.

When ASUS are pushing out Windows Mobile 6.1 Pro 320 x 320 touchscreen smartphones with HSDPA, GPS, WiFi and a 3-megapixel camera, it hardly seems surprising that anticipation for Palm’s upcoming WM Treo isn’t that hot. The ASUS m536 manages to be slimmer than the Treo 750v (just 13.9mm) despite blowing it away feature-wise, and has a clever dual-purpose fingerprint reader that not only offers biometric security but works as a five-way navigation control too.

Like ASUS Lamborghini ZX1 it is based on Windows Mobile 6.1 and own-branded 3D graphical interface, which enables “one-touch” access to multimedia menu. You can adjust Multi-Home animated menu as you like. The specs provided below are taken from the exhibition info and can be somewhat changed by the release of the device.
