The South Korean Ministry of Knowledge (that sounds like a totally bad ass department for a country to have) has said that by 2012 they want to export $70 billion worth of mobile phones versus $29 billion in 2007.

Sony Ericsson may have announced the industry first 8 megapixel camera phone, C905, but that doesn't mean other players are sleeping. Apparently, Korean LG Electronics is working on its own such device with 8 MP camera and Xenon flash, and is readying the device for October launch.

Verizon's summer blockbuster strategy is markedly different from Sprint's marketing ploy. While the No. 3 US wireless carrier is aiming squarely at Apple by pushing their successful Samsung Instinct as a cheaper and more feature-packed alternative to the iPhone and iPhone 3G, No. 2 Verizon Wireless looks to be flooding the US market with a range of handsets that they hope will appeal to a wider audience.

This would be a boring world indeed if handset manufacturers only offered their wares in trimmed in nothing but Black. Thankfully, we live in a world of color and fancy.

Freebies always draw large crowds. And so, when I heard that LG was giving away free Bluetooth headsets at the Peterson Automotive Museum, I had to check it out (for the readers, of course).

It looks like the summer's really heating things up for Verizon. With the iPhone 3G launch hanging imminently over their corporate heads, the No. 2 US wireless carrier has announced the LG Dare alongside the LG Decoy and LG Chocolate 3 to help attract some newcomers to the CDMA network. So, with a 3G radio, VCAST, VZ Navigator, and 3.2 megapixel camera in tow, the LG Dare is expected to bring its clean lines, sharp demeanor, and touchscreen goodies later this month. But, it doesn't end there.

Apologies for not giving you readers more lead-time on this, but I just found out that LG will be hosting an event in Los Angeles tomorrow to help drivers deal with the new hands-free cellphone law that goes in to effect July 1. If you don't already know, California drivers will be required to use hands-free solutions when using their mobile phone while behind the wheel.

We've no doubts LG will sell a bunch of Secrets (KF750). The thinnest 5 megapixel camera equipped phone looks awesome and is hence ideal for those people that don't want all the hassle (and power) of a smartphone.

You've seen the press photos and now it's here. I'm talking about the LG VX8610 Decoy, the one phone that comes with an integrated Bluetooth headset. Aside from this very useful feature, the LG Decoy also sports a 2.2-inch QVGA screen, 2 megapixel camera that can take both photos and videos, EV-DO,
