Looks like Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s on a handset updating bender today. The Nokia N82 isn’t the only S60 smartphone lucky enough to be graced by a firmware update, it seems the Nokia N78 has had its very own encounter with Nokia’s update-stick.

Sure, you could just use your T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) G1 as an Android smartphone and call it a fulfilling day. But then you’d be missing out on the geekery that is booting your PC from your T-Mobile G1! The fine folks over at Logical Tech have figured out a way to use the T-Mobile G1 as a bootable USB drive, and they’ve posted a nice little guide on how to do it for yourself.

Nokia recently announced that the Japanese market was pretty much a wrap for the handset maker’s mainstream brand. Nokia (NYSE: NOK)’s high-end Vertu brand, however, will be soldiering on in Japan with the launch of the Vertu MVNO and the Vertu flagship retail location in Ginzu, Japan. And, by the looks of it, the Vertu building is just about finished.

I’m not sure why it took so much time for Nokia (NYSE: NOK) to release the 5800 XpressMusic iSync plug-in, but it’s here now and I guess Mac owners are rejoicing. Finally, they [Mac owners who also have the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic] can seamlessly sync their all-touchscreen smartphone (calendars and contacts) with a computer.

Even though it’s not an actual release for the Symbian S60 5th Edition, the new version of the popular S60 file manager, Y-Browser, perfectly works on the Nokia (NYSE: NOK) 5800 XpressMusic. This is not to say that the application can’t be further improved — there are lot of wasted space on the screen and some commands like marking the files.....
