"Luxurious yet simple design" is the name of the game for SKY's latest bit of mobile splendor, curiously named "Duke" of all things. For many of us, "Duke" conjures up images of rough-and-tumble sheriffs in the Wild West or gargantuan Xbox controllers, but one thing it doesn't necessarily bring to mind is "luxurious yet simple." No bother, we suppose it's the hardware that matters, so let's get to it: 2.4 inch QVGA display, 1.3 megapixel camera, document viewer, media player, Bluetooth, and built-in subway maps (Korean subways, that is) all grace the rather plainly styled slider. Look for it on your favorite Seoul retailer's shelf for something in the range of 400,000 won (about $404).

The Pantech UTStarcom TXT8010 was spotted on the FCC website. The Pantech UTStarcom TXT8010 was one of two handsets announced by the company at this years CTIA (the other was the CDM7126). Apparently, this new little handset is going to be quite wide, as seen in the FCC image.
The Pantech UTStarcom TXT8010 will feature: dual-band CDMA, EV-DO, full Qwerty keyboard, Bluetooth, Openwave browser, a 2.2-inch 262k screen, SMS, MMS, and a 1.3 megapixel cam. If you couldn’t tell, the Pantech UTStarcom TXT8010 is definitely geared towards heavy texters. It’ll most likely be coming very soon.

Pantech decide to tap on unpaid brains by organizing a cell phone design contest in Korea, with participants coming from different universities where there are design students studying there. All I can say is, the future of cell phone design is extremely radical.

Eagle-eyed Engadget folks spotted the OZ2 hitting the FCC for the approval process. If you remember, prior to releasing it as the Helio Ocean, the Pantech-made dual-slider was known simply as OZ. Naturally, we think the OZ2 stands for Ocean 2 and hopefully, soon enough, we'll see our assumptions confirmed, or not. CTIA is ahead of us and we'll be looking for both Pantech and Helio for some answers. In the meantime, Helio users could keep their fingers crossed, it can't hurt for sure.

Pantech has announced the Blade IM-S320/IM-S320K will become available through KTF this week. Pantech describes the Blade as a luxury slider mobile which features 3G HSDPA, 2.1 inch display screen, MP3 player, 1.3 megapixel camera, DMB TV tuner, document viewer, dictionary and a multitasking operating system. While the Pantech Blade looks to be of a thin design there were no measurements on its actual size available.

As any good handset should do, the AT&T Pantech Duo is going to be making its Red-colored debut next week.
We like the Windows Mobile 6.0-powered handset with that handy, dual-sliding, keypad/keyboard hybrid design, and it seems that the masses have taken well to the Pantech Duo. In fact, we’re hearing that AT&T has seen fit to kick it up a notch with a bit of Red paint.

QWERTY equipped smartphones like the Nokia E61i, the Samsung Blackjack, and the BlackBerry Curve have been all the rage for quite some time now. While these devices are great for people that live and die by email messages, their width and form factor don't sit well with people that want something slightly more normal...

You can always count on Korea's Pantech & Curitel to deliver some innovative features in its lineup of SKY handsets, and the new IM-R200 is no different, sporting a unique LCD keypad that must serve other functions as well to make up for its lack of tactility. Besides the fancy second screen, this single-slider (not dual, like the similarly-named R100) also features a two megapixel camera, QVGA display, 116MB of memory supplemented by microSD, and of course all the usual multimedia playback bonanza.
