The latest version of the Facebook application for BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) has bubbled up to the blogosphere, revealing tighter integration with BlackBerry’s native functions: messages, calendar, and contacts. Facebook had recently begun a Phonebook app which gathered up all of your friends’ available phone numbers into one place, and once it’s out, the app will make sure your address book stays....

A quick OS update for the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Bold users out there. Yet another unofficial OS has leaked for the Bold, and this time its version 4.6.0.244. As with all unofficial updates, if you don’t know what you’re doing, please do not update your OS. If you do, simply take all necessary precautions before you proceed.

RIM was really rolling the dice with the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm’s clicking touchscreen, and has steep resistance in SurePress adoption. Even though the hardware is locked in, there’s still a lot they can do to improve the experience from the software end, including this.....

You might recall the ‘I Am Rich’ App that hit the Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) App Store last year. Priced at a cool $999, the application was nothing more than useless ‘bling’ that allowed the purchaser to show off how much money they have. Why? Well, the app did nothing you see. Well, almost nothing… when you opened the app there was a glowing ruby gem that appeared on screen. Woohoo. $1,000 down the drain.

Ping Pong anyone? Storm users can now enjoy a game of table tennis, right there on their touchscreen Berry thanks to Zen Table Tennis from ResetGame. This one isn’t a freebie, you can pick it up for $9.99. A little expensive in my books, but perhaps some will find it worth the price.

Only a few days after OS 4.7.0.109 leaked for the BlackBerry Storm 9500, the same has surfaced for its cousin, the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm 9530. Just like the leaked OS for the 9500, this is not an official version. With that in mind, please take all necessary precautions before installing this OS. Backup your device… And do not blame me if things blow up in your face

At a swell little shindig in New York today, RIM talked up BES 5.0 codenamed after the inert (i.e stable) gas, Argon. Argon’s been in the works for a couple of years now - according to RIM, beta versions have been in the hands of companies for the last year, and in use internally for two.

At the aforementioned RIM shindig there was what would otherwise be a throwaway slide featuring the front of a white BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Pearl Flip, apparently the same one we saw back in September. A picture of a Verizon (NYSE: VZ) BlackBerry 8230 in silver recently popped up, and this looks to be the very same CDMA Pearl Flip. Mobile World Congress....

RIM’s got a cool spy-themed contest going on, where every day you can answer a simple trivia question to get entered into daily, weekly and grand prize draws. The big win is a trip around the world through Northwest Air Lines totallying up to $25,000 plus Mariott Hotel vouchers for you and a friend. Speaking of friends, the more you invite to play, the more daily entries you can make.

Developer Fabian Heuwieser put together TyperSpeed to measure the speed of your typing on the notoriously addictive device.

Want to pick up a T-Mobile (NYSE: DT) G1, but your money situation just ain’t right? It’s a problem more and more people are facing these days with the downturn in the economy. Gotta have that latest gadget, but unfortunately the ol’ sticker price on the device is just out of comfortable reach.

Word on the street yesterday was that RIM was having some, shall we say, ‘issues’ with one of their servers. If you were unlucky enough to have data routed through that particular server, you probably noticed sporadic data outages yesterday… and much frustration.

We’re not sure if it’s a good thing for the BlackBerry (NSDQ: RIMM) Storm that its parts (including assembly costs) ring up to a grand total of $203, trumping the iPhone 3G’s parts and manufacturing costs. iSuppli, famous for tearing down new handsets and assigning a dollar value to every single handset component, has found that the BlackBerry Storm burns through $203 worth of parts and labor before ever hitting a retail shelf.

While netbooks with integrated 3G data connectivity garnered significant interest over the just-past holiday shopping season, larger laptops were largely left out of the party. Today, we’re hearing that Apple (NSDQ: AAPL) might soon change all that with a rumor that has AT&T (NYSE: T)....
