BlackBerry maker, Research In Motion (RIM), has taken a more pro-active approach to maintaining their BlackBerry servers. Rather than waiting for vulnerabilities to rear their ugly head and take down enterprise users' entire BlackBerry email-backends, RIM has announced that they've identified and patched a vulnerability in their BlackBerry Enterprise Server related to PDF-parsing.

Telus has added the BlackBerry Curve in pink to its offering. It seems the Canadian operator wants to sell the color rather than specs before the first BlackBerrys 9000 start appearing. Afterwards, I'm not quite sure who will care about the Curve.

As the Rogers Wireless' BlackBerry Bold launch date (July 25th) is approaching, so are the rumors about the pricing of the new device. Apparently, the Canadian mobile operator will sell the long-awaited BlackBerry for $299, which is the same price as the 16GB iPhone 3G. It seems reasonable, but it's also possible that we'll see the price going down as we approach the Christmas season.

Can't stand the veritable flood of iPhone 3G news? Well, worry not, BlackBerry fanatics. RIM's touchscreen answer to the iPhone 3G is on its way to a smartphone market near you. And, to make sure the world isn't so caught up in iPhone hype that they forget about the rest of the smartphone industry's touchscreen offerings, it seems that RIM has let a few pictures of their highly anticipated BlackBerry Thunder handset.

As far as RIM is concerned, there are no more legal hurdles standing on their way for the BlackBerry Bold launch. Yes, this means the long awaited BlackBerry has been approved by the FCC. The variant that's on their pages shows UMTS working on 850/1900 MHz and those are just the right frequencies for AT&T, which will be the first carrier to launch the device in the States.

Apparently, the upcoming BlackBerry Thunder will have an awesome touchscreen keyboard. While this is far for confirmed, we have reasons to believe there is some merit to the story. Two arguments emerge - first, RIM is known to make devices with high-quality keyboards, and second, iPhone and other all-touchscreen devices raised the bar. The latter is there to tell RIM they should do something extraordinary, and it seems they are on the target.

If the usually well-informed Boy Genius is on point with an allegedly leaked inventory document, everyone's favorite big-box retailer will be taking shipment of the Sidekick Gekko and Sidekick LX Tony Hawk limited edition handsets on July 27, with sales presumably kicking off same day or shortly thereafter

RIM is reportedly preparing another BlackBerry for Nextel's iDEN network. And while you may wonder why would they invest their resources in iDEN, the fact stays that for people looking for push-to-talk service - Nextel rules. In addition, Nextel's service is still being used extensively by some industries, which RIM may want to target as well.

Canadians may be among the first to get their hands on the upcoming BlackBerry Bold. Ok, John Mayer was first (among the first few, actually), but the close second isn't that bad at all. Apparently, and this is not 100% confirmed, Rogers Wireless will start selling the new BlackBerry starting from July 25th!
