Comparing cameraphone image quality can be a tough nut; apart from obvious things like poor focus or grainy quality, it can be a pretty subjective beast. PhoneArena went wild with high end handsets to give us a "thousand-angle" view of what it takes to stand out in an über (notice the umlauted u? We don't do that often, so this is serious business) shootout between three 3 megapixel cams --....

A unique keypad arrangement, outstanding design and the world’s most powerful suite of features and applications for its size set the SX1 apart from other handsets - perfect for the most demanding mobile phone consumers. Powerful as it is beautiful, the SX1 hosts the ultimate entertainment and business package.
The Siemens Mobile SX1 created a buzz on websites and web boards not unlike the stir that Sony Ericsson's venerable P800 did in late 2002. With its large, easy to read screen, built–in camera, and fairly comprehensive multimedia capabilities, it has all the features needed to be a big success. Unfortunately, it's possible that the somewhat controversial key layout may hold it back from that success, as not everyone I showed the handset to was impressed by its layout. Using the same user interface found in the Nokia 3650 and 6600 and Symbian 6.1 OS, using it will be a fairly familiar experience to any user who has experience with other Series 60 devices. Look for the user interface screen shots and handset images in the gallery at the end of the story.

The Siemens SX66, now available from US carrier Cingular, is a high-end smartphone that seems to take the Swiss Army knife approach: pack in as many tools and features as possible into a small package.
Most SX66 users will probably notice the most unusual tool right away - a small keyboard hidden in the bottom of the phone which slides out to type quick text or email messages. The slide-out QWERTY keyboard is Simens’s solution to the problem that smartphone makers face in trying to add a keyboard to a phone but keeping it out of the way when it’s not needed. It remains to be seen whether the slide-out approach is comfortable enough to be a good solution for anything more than short messages.
The SX66 supports nearly every communications protocol available today, including GPRS, WiFi, Bluetooth, infrared, USB, and, of course, quad-band GSM. It’s also a Pocket PC, with a full set of organizer and calendar functions based around a 400 Mhz XScale processor. The processing power and built-in WiFi will probably make this phone especially attractive to customers who use software-based voice over IP (VoIP) services, or who connect to a corporate VPN.
There are several versions of this phone available from different carriers, all of which go by different names and may have slightly different features. Other versions include the MDA III and the PDA2K. All include the unique slide-out QWERTY keyboard, and some may include a VGA camera or a different memory configuration.
