Motorola's new Linux-based A810 smartphone breezed through the FCC recently, and it looks really nice. This full-touchscreen handset features a minimum of hardware buttons, instead relying on the touchscreen for navigation - a stylus is included.
The Motorola A810 sports a 2 megapixel camera, but no flash, unfortunately. There is a microSD card slot beneath the battery for expanded memory, and a standard 3.5mm audio jack will make music listening convenient. An FM radio is also on board, as well as Bluetooth support.

The long overdue Samsung Glyde U940 has finally shown up in Verizon's InfoManager system. Unfortunately, no release date or price is listed along with it. All that is shown are the official specs of the device, press photos, and on-line user guide. However, rumor has it that full retail price will be $499, with 2-year pricing around that of the Voyager, and a release in May or June.

For a phone that came out in 2006, it's kinda surprising how much interest (both from carriers and end users) that the Nokia N95 series continues to enjoy. With any luck, we'll be seeing it launch on AT&T later this year -- but Rogers is apparently poised to beat 'em to the punch. Mobile In Canada reports that Canada's 800-pound GSM behemoth intends to launch the N95 (the North American, non-8GB model, as far as we can tell) as early as May 2nd -- which, alongside the already-launched Sony Ericsson K850i, makes for a powerful one-two combo of 5 megapixel 3G Europhones.

Whenever I want to change my cell phone I think Nokia. All right, I am busted, nowadays I keep thinking iPhone but in my book Nokia are still masters of the cell phone known universe. Or, if you indulge the comparison, an iPhone would be a lover to me, whereas a Nokia phone would be the wife. Not that I'd ever do that.
Nokia N810 WiMAX is, from what you can see, a powerful tool. It has a 4.13 inch touchscreen and a handy slide out full QWERTY keyboard. And it has an integrated webcam, the GPS feature and the Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and WiMAX(where available) as internet connectivity options.

Our friends at Samsung were kind enough to slip us a bright white SGH-i620 while we were visiting them at the 2008 CTIA Wireless show in Las Vegas. This particular i620 was built for Vodafone Italy, and sports the company's "mail & call" logo on its side. The i620 is similar to Samsung's other i6xx series messaging devices, such as the i617 BlackJack II, and runs the same Windows Mobile 6.0 Standard edition operating system. It is a tri-band GSM/EDGE cellphone that can get HSDPA 3G data speeds on 2100MHz networks, such as those in Europe.

Until now, the official Skype client was only available for smartphones. Now, a beta of the official JAVA client is available, which should allow a great number of compatible devices to use it. Although the Skype page mentions about 50 phones from Motorola, Samsung, Nokia and Sony Ericsson there are many others that can also use it.
